Our Security

How CFCOR protects you

Keeping your accounts safe is our priority. That’s why we have a range of products, services and features that help protect you from fraud 24/7.

The digitalization of our data, along with the rapid rise in online activity, has made our lives more efficient and connected than ever. But it’s also given way to a growing rise in cyber crime. In “Cyber Security,” we look at the growing threat — and steps we can take to protect ourselves. Email, social media, Wi-Fi, online shopping, online banking — so much of the way we interact and communicate today is done digitally. And while this offers tremendous benefits, it’s also made large portions of our lives a tempting target for cyber criminals. CFCOR is consistently enhancing our security measures and strengthening our layers of protection as threats evolve.

Our security measures
  • We use Secure Sockets Layer and Transport Layer Security to provide a 128-bit secure link between your browser and us. A Global Digital certificate signed by VeriSign assures that you are, in fact, communicating with CFCOR and not a copycat site.
  • We have built a time-out into your login session. Your connection to our site will be closed after a period of inactivity. This protects you in case you forget to log out.
  • We use firewalls and other technology to block unauthorized traffic to our site. Our state-of-the-art monitoring equipment ensures that unauthorized access is prevented.
  • Information is always encrypted between areas of CFCOR and between CFCOR and our partners. Not only is communication between you and CFCOR encrypted, but also between CFCOR and its business partners. It’s one more way to ensure the security of your personal information.
  • We have dedicated teams working 24/7 looking for suspicious transactions and activity across your accounts. If we detect anything, we’ll contact you so please ensure your contact details are up-to-date.
  • Many of our investment accounts are SIPC covered up to $500,000 and cash can be FDIC-insured up to $250,000 at no cost to you. So in the rare event you got funds stolen or CFCOR declares bankruptcy, you have a free insurance policy.
What you can do to protect your security
  • Interact with reputable companies. If you are unsure of the company request more information before doing anything.
  • Check to be sure you are on the website of the company with which you want to do business. Website names (URLs) that are very similar to those of legitimate companies can easily be created by someone intending to commit fraud.
  • Take the time to read the provider’s Website Privacy Policy before proceeding. This should outline both the company’s security measures and personal information sharing policies. Protect your personal information.
  • Never disclose your password to anyone, even a customer service representative from that company.
  • Only provide information to merchants that is necessary for the transaction.
  • Ensure the site is encrypted before providing account or other personal information. Look for a key or lock on your screen and confirm the URL begins with https://
  • Use unique passwords – avoid date of birth, Social Security number, or simple words.
  • Avoid sending personal information via email unless the purpose is specifically outlined.
  • Always keep a record of your online transactions.
  • Use a secure browser.
  • Never disclose your password to anyone, even a customer service representative from that company.
  • If your bank has the option – enable fraud alerts to your mobile phone and email.
  • Do not open or respond to unknown emails.
  • If you have the option to further secure your accounts using Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) – do so.
  • Use a Virtual Private Network (VPN) while on the internet
